I don’t seem to be able to access my parent mail this week so here it is!
We started the week with an exciting trip to Harlow Carr. While at Harlow Carr we went on a sculpture hunt, played in the adventure play parks and did a workshop on pollination. The children behaved beautifully and we had a great time. Have a look at the blog for some pictures of our day. From this we wrote recounts in our science lesson, the children put in so much effort.
In English this week we have been working on comparing Leeds and Milan. We started by looking at facts about Leeds, such as the population and geographical features. We then found out facts for Milan. From this we created a Venn diagram, thinking about the similarities and differences. We then wrote a comparison piece explaining everything we had found out.
In maths we have moved onto graphs. We started by looking at pictograms and working out the amount of something depending on what the symbols stood for. We then moved onto Bar charts and looked out how to read them. Using the Bar charts we were able to ask questions about the information presented on the chart.
This afternoon we went to watch the amazing Allerton’s Got Talent. It was so good to watch all the acts, they should all be very proud of themselves. Well done to Michael from our class who took part. We will find out the result on Tuesday!
I have handed new spellings and homework out. The homework is English, p20-21 Conjunctions with main clauses and Maths is, p52 Tables. The spellings are –natural, naughty, notice, occasion, occasionally, often, opposite, ordinary, particular, position.
Have a lovely weekend
