This week Year 3 received a very important letter it said –
Dear Mrs Stott,
I am writing to inform you that, unfortunately, all past information on your surrounding local area, Alwoodley, has gone missing. You may have seen this in the news – you can check this on the BBC news page.
After investigation, we believe that there are clues which will lead us to this information. These have been hidden on your school grounds. As Lord Mayor of Leeds, I am advising you that it is imperative you deal with this as a matter of urgency. Please find enclosed some information that may help you.
I would be grateful if you could use all your resources in school to find the information we need and respond to me by Friday 15th June.
After receiving the letter we checked on BBC news and found it was on there as well! We then met up with the other Year 3 class and looked for these clues on the playground. We found lots of ripped up maps, we sorted them into things we felt were important and things that weren’t. Once the children looked more closely at the map they saw they had codes on the back. After placing the maps back together we discovered a grid reference for a place in Adel woods! The children have them been writing emails to Mrs Stott to ask if we can go on a local visit to investigate this area. We all want to know what will be there!
